Dynamics on Dance Trapeze with Troy Lingelbach (18+)
$50 per class
A credit card is required to enroll but isn't charged until the time of service.
Level: intermediate
Saturday, June 7 from 10:45-12:15pm with Troy Lingelbach
Beats, tempos, and rolls, oh my! In this workshop, we will break down tempos both below and on the bar; beats from knees, armpits, and elbows; and rolls from hips and elbows. The workshop culminates in time to explore connections between the different types of dynamics. Students will be given time to string their favorite skills together into an original sequence.
Prerequisites: a strong pullover without using the ropes, confidence inverting, strong front balance.
No previous dance trapeze experience is required--this workshop is a fun gateway to the apparatus for silk, lyra, and hammock students.
Troy Lingelbach is a circus and performance artist based in Brooklyn. They have been teaching aerial arts in NYC for over a decade. Troy is known for challenging their students with a positive attitude, focusing on technique and efficiency in the air while expanding creativity. Their work is an accumulation of their eclectic background studying theatre, dance, gymnastics, and philosophy. After receiving solid foundational aerial training in San Diego, Troy developed their own movement vocabulary as a self-taught artist, and has sought out coaching around the world (Nicolas Stocco, Kerri Kersinski, Aaron Koz, Iliana Ata) to improve their coaching. Troy’s greatest joy is watching students blossom as artists while pushing the limits of what they believe they are capable of, so let’s fly!
