Making Connections: Dance Movement for Circus Artists (for high school aged circus artists) $175 Purchase required to enroll
July 10-14, 2023
12pm-3pm
Age range: high schoolers (entering 9th-12th grade in fall 2023)
In this artistic movement intensive designed for high schoolers, we will explore techniques to grow movement vocabulary, quality, and texture, and develop sequences, improvisation skills, and ways to connect and embellish the spaces between circus skills.
Each day will begin with a floor-based dance warm up, then continue on to include learning choreography, building movement skills, and working to develop your own sequence, either in the air or on the ground. Focus will be placed on learning and creating dynamic sequences, mastering movements like rolls and jumps, and building a toolbox full of resources for inspiration and experimentation!
Participants should have previous circus experience and an interest in linking their circus skills with dance and movement skills in order to support their creative expression.
If you are curious about this program but are not in the age range described, contact us and we will see if it might be a good fit.
Note, this program requires a minimum of 4 participants to run.
